The first Ride-out of the year attracted a manageable group of riders who gathered at the Melin Tregwynt Roadstead for a hill coaching and training session.
Riders where instructed on efficient hill-climbing techniques, safe bike handling, bike control and descending. The group practiced for an hour with some tough hill-reps before they ‘enjoyed’ a picturesque ride around Strumble Head which included the ascent over Garn Fawr.
The Rider’s Perspective
Lisa Phillips said; “It was a great day, I learnt loads and the coffee and cake at Melin Tregwynt were really good.” Other riders felt a lot more confident both with their ability to handle their bikes and also in how to train for the main event of the year in May. The next Tour of Pembrokeshire Ride-Out is scheduled for the 10th March and the details are on the website.
