The Paul Sartori Foundation is Pembrokeshire’s only Hospice at Home service providing; hands on care, equipment loan, bereavement counselling, physiotherapy, complementary therapy, training, advanced care planning services and a clinical nurse specialist service delivering symptom control and advice. These services are delivered directly into the homes of people living in the later stages of a life-limiting illnesses, who wish to die at home, with dignity, independence and surrounded by those they hold most dear if that is their wish.
Demand for their 24 hour, 7 days a week, free of charge service is increasing year on year. Last year the charity helped 1026 people, compared to 820 people the previous year and delivered over 19,000 hours of hands on care, a 17% increase on the previous year. Paul Sartori are thankful for the 16% income received 2016 – 2017 from the Welsh Government, Local Health Board and County Council. But it is organisations such as the Tour of Pembrokeshire, the local people, community groups and businesses that make the greatest difference and to this wonderful charity.
